The Field Pack

Almost everything we deliver assumes a network: the viewer is a website, a shared link opens a URL. The Field Pack is the artifact for the moment that assumption fails — you're standing at the far corner of your own property with one bar, a locked gate, and a question about which track goes to the tank.

What it is

One file, downloaded before you leave the house, opened in the free Google Earth app on your phone. Inside it: your own flight imagery as the base map, your named points with their pictogram icons, and your routes drawn in their colors. Nothing in the file phones home — no tile request, no login, no signal needed. It works in an airplane-seat pocket, so it works in the back pasture.

Why it's built the strict way

• The imagery is yours, or there is no imagery. The base map is composed from your own flight. If that plate can't be rendered, the pack ships without imagery and says so in its own description — it never quietly substitutes somebody else's basemap.
• The map is placed where the pixels actually are. The imagery's stated footprint is the one the renderer actually drew, not the one that was asked for — so your pins sit where the ground is, not a few meters off.
• The honest lines travel inside the file. The same disclaimers printed on every deliverable are written into the pack itself, because a file gets forwarded further than a web page does.

Its honest limits

• The imagery is from your flight date — it's a record, not a live feed.
• Download it while you still have signal. The whole point is that it needs nothing after that.
• A route on this page is a path recorded over this property from our own mapping — a line to walk or fly, and nothing more. It is not a road, an easement, or a right of way, and it is not a statement that the ground it crosses is maintained, legally accessible, or safe to travel on foot or by vehicle. Conditions on the ground govern: check them before relying on a route.
